A chemical peel is a body treatment technique used to improve and smooth the texture of the skin, often facial skin, using a chemical solution that causes the dead skin to slough off and eventually peel off. The regenerated skin is usually smoother and less wrinkled than the old skin. Most commonly used areas to treat are the face, neck, decolle, back and back of the hands.
It is mainly used to solve the following skin problems:
- Acne – mildening symptoms, reducing pores and acne scar removal
- Pigmentation– unification of skin colour
- Freckles – unification of skin colour
- Enlarged pore – reducing pore size
- Aging skin – removal of aging effects, increasing skin hydration and elasticity, skin glowing
- Wrinkles – softening fine lines
- Varicose veins
Chemical peel is a skin resurfacing technique in which chemical solution with acids is applied to the skin. Preparatory cream is used before the procedure which guarantees higher effect of the following peel procedures. 4-6 treatments are performed within the range of 7-14 days to reach the maximum effect.
The new skin with a bright pink colour or red akin to sunburn will emerge after the procedure. It lasts for 1-2 days.
Desired peel of the skin follows which can be covered by make up.
